One of tourist’s favourite cities in the world is London. It demands proper exploration with our room buddies. London is one of the few places which people will enjoy roaming around both in summer and winter. The city is well connected among its various parts by road and rail. - A person who takes interest in literature should visit Stratford-upon-Avon. This is very popular since it is the birthplace of William Shakespeare. People can visit his birthplace, go for a boat ride on Avon River or visit Anne Hathaway’s cottage. Also, you can watch a play of Shakespeare there. This place is easily commutable and can be reached within two hours from London.
- Another place worth visiting is Brighton. This is regarded as not only a seaside destination but also one for pleasure. It’s only about an hour from London by train. It is less crowded than London and gives a soothing feeling roaming around with room buddies. There are a few sites including the Royal Pavilion, the Brighton Pier or the Brighton Wheel that are worth a visit and one can spend a lot of time loitering around!
- The name Oxford is widely popular in all corners of the world. It has the oldest university in England and can be visited from London in a short time. The stone architecture is also admirable. Book lovers can always pay a visit to the very old libraries such as the Bodleian, or visit many of the fine old museums. Another unique feature of this place is the covered markets. They have always been a cheap and superb shopping destination with plenty of shops and food stalls. If we visit there in the summer with our room buddies then we must try punting down the river with a pole which is very romantic and gentle.
- Cambridge houses many exciting museums and galleries. So, many things are worth visiting here with our flat mates. Punting is popular here at Cambridge. So, one can enjoy it as well or you can explore the historic roman baths and learn all about Roman Britain. The city is also known for its immensely beautiful classic architecture made of beautiful Cotswold stone.
- The city of York has also plenty of attractions which makes it a must visit place. This includes York Minster which is a big ancient cathedral, or even the National Railway Museum. You can enjoy shopping in the streets around the city centre or stop at the open air market. If you fancy staying a bit longer then check out the Yorkshire Dales where you can immerse yourself in the outstanding scenery and rich culture heritage.
- While in London you can always take a weekend trip to either Leeds or Dover castles which are both located in Kent and are very beautiful. They are both quite spectacular and well worth exploring. And if you get tired of looking at castles then you can always do a spot of shopping – great outlets in and around Kent!
- A person who is attracted to churches should visit Canterbury. Canterbury has many splendid cathedrals and churches. Finding accommodation on the way is also not a big deal, lots of b&b’s along the way.
- One of the must visit international destinations from London is obviously Paris. Who wouln’t love to visit this charming city. Paris is a huge city and so it’s important to plan ahead. Well worth a visit are the Eiffel Tower, Monmarte, the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Elysees and the Lourve, not to mention the awesome shopping that Paris has to offer. All this in less than 3 hours by train from London!
